News agencies have reported that about 20 representatives of Western
countries’ embassies, including the United States, Great Britain, Bulgaria, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania and Austria, have arrived at the Moscow City Court for a hearing of the Simonovsky District Court, which is going to consider the Federal Penitentiary Service’s petition to change Alexey Navalny’s suspended sentence to a term in prison.
Let me remind you that traditionally, diplomats support their countries’
citizens at foreign courts. Even if Westerners see Navalny as “their kin,” he is still a citizen of the Russian Federation. This is no longer just interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign state. This is self-exposure of the collective West’s ungainly and illegal role in attempts to contain Russia.
Or is it an attempt to put psychological pressure on the judge? I cannot rule
out their genuine concern, to a large extent, over the millions NATO has injected
into illegal activities on Russian territory (possibly British or American money).
They will have to report to their capitals on where that money went.
